Course: Atmospheric Chemistry and Climatology

If you choose this major, you’ll focus on the chemistry of the atmosphere -- the collection of gases that surround the earth. You’ll study the atmosphere’s chemical composition, practice techniques for measuring its properties, and examine atmospheric processes. You’ll use what you learn to better understand climate in the past and the present, and to make predictions about the future. Topics you’ll cover in class include analyzing climate data and using computers to model climate. You’ll also investigate aerosols, transport mechanisms, climate diagnosis, ionization, photoemission, plasma chemistry, and more.
