Course: Master Aesthetician

If you choose this program, you’ll prepare to become a licensed skin-care specialist, working in salons and spas or the offices of dermatologists and plastic surgeons. You’ll learn how to massage and care for the face, neck, and body with chemicals, cosmetics, and medical treatments. Your classes will cover everything from anatomy and physiology with a focus on the skin and its disorders to makeup techniques for camouflaging disfigurement. You’ll also practice treatments like chemical peels and microdermabrasion, and learn how to care for clients’ skin before and after surgery. Other topics include sanitation, laws and regulations related to the profession, and business practices.
