Course: Music Management and Merchandising

If you love music and have a head for business, you might want to study music management and merchandising. In this field, you’ll learn all about how the music industry works. How is a recording made? Why are songs copyrighted? How is a musician’s career promoted through radio play and the use of his or her music in films and on television?

Students of music management and merchandising learn how to manage record labels and other music organizations as well as the careers of musicians. Classes cover such topics as personnel management, marketing, event promotion, and music law.
