It\u2019s not just about how something is done, it\u2019s more and more about how that is then pitched as part of a business case within a team environment.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The co-founder of Apple and inventor of the ipod, Steve Jobs, put it succinctly \u201cTo me, ideas are worth nothing unless executed. They are just a multiplier. Execution is worth millions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>And it\u2019s soft skills that are at the core of successful execution.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Indicators point to the value of these skills and the consequent impact on an organization being able to successfully execute its mission. So, the question is how do we acquire these skills? The answer to that may be more convenient than you might think.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>For some organizations, a quick fix is obviously recruitment. But this is both expensive and also fraught with unknowns:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Will the recruit \u201cfit\u201d with the org culture?<\/li>\n<li>Do they really have the skills they purport to have?<\/li>\n<li>Do their personal goals align with the organization (if they don\u2019t, then any recruitment will be short-lived)?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>These are all questions which will go through the minds of the recruiter, the HR director and also the line-manager.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Think for a minute about the nature of soft-skills.
